Sorry for the delay in fishing reports, but it has been a really busy end of summer and fishing has been awesome this year too say the least!! Fishing has continued to improve as the water temps keep dropping! the water is 74-78 depending when you get on the water but in really good condition besides being about 8-9ft down! becareful on the lake! There are lots of new stumps coming to the surface every week especially on the east 1/2 of the lake! We have been catching our fish in 20-35ft of water TIGHTLY relating to structure around the lake. ie. ledges and on and around humps! The afternoon bite seems to better than the morning bite for now but it will soon change again back to the morning. ALL of our Sand Bass and Hybrids are being caught using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES! The Large mouth bite is getting much better! Lots of fish being caught early on Excalibur xr50's and Excalibursquare bill xr200 cranks in the morning in very shallow water near rocky ledges!
7-23-11 The fishing has been as good as it can get the last month! I have been catching fish in just about every depth in the lake!! From less than 1ft to as deep as 45ft of water! But the fish are still on the move so you still have to find where they have moved too, day by day! The Hybrid bite is as good as it has been all year this past weekend! We caught and boated over 100 Hybrids in two days! Surfacing schools of Sand bass can be found all over the lake with Hybrids usually with them, under them! You just have to get your bait down to them! All of our fish were caught using LEAD BABIES,FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES, AND SASSY SHAD swim baits with a 1oz jig head! The water temp has been HOT! 88 in the morning at launch and climbs into the low 90's by noon. The lake is about 5-6ft down and dropping but still in really good shape and just slightly stained!
6-15-11
The fish are on the move and in transition! There is some surfacing action starting on parts of the lake! The full blown top water should start any day now!! Still catching good numbers of of good sized fish daily! You just have too keep up with there movements around the lake. We found fish today in 20-25ft and surfacing around the area we were fishing in! We caught around a hundred in about an hour and a half, but only keep 25 for dinner for them! Had a blast today! When you find the fish they are very easy to catch because they are aggressively feeding and hitting the baits very hard! Doubles are common and big numbers of fish are pretty easy when the wind isn't blowing to crazy! All of our fish were caught today using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES AND SLABS! Water temp 82 degrees and the lake is in good shape!
5-13-11
The fishing on all of the lakes is just off the charts! Limits of Sand Bass are easily being caught daily! On all three of my lakes: Lake Lewisville, Lake Ray Roberts, and Lake Grapevine aswell! The only thing that can slow me down right now is the wind. And boy has it been WINDY this spring! The fish are holding on to several different patterns right now. You can catch'em on deep structure (40'+) aswell as shallow structure (10')!, and Schooling and suspended in deep water! On ledges, on humps, and suspended! Today we caught fish from 10ft deep to 44ft deep. Being able to read your Lowrance Graphs is as important as ever right now. The majority of the bigger fish are holding deep chasing bait balls eating huge numbers of bait fish trying to bulk back up after the spawn. Today we caught all of our fish slabbin with Lead Babies Slabs (1.5oz) and Fly-Night-Flies! (White and chartreuse) Water temp-71 degrees and really in really good shape!!
4-2-11
I just don't remember fishing ever being this good on Lake Lewisville this time of the year but it truly is about as good as it gets right now and only going to get BETTER as the lake continues to warm at the pace that it is now! Limits++ of good sized fish are being caught every trip! The fish are biting all over the lake at different depths but there are biting the best at around 20-25 ft on structure! The water temp was 66 degrees when we left the lake yesterday! ALL of our fish were caught slabbin with LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLIES-BY-NIGHT FLIES! Doubles are very common right now in these VERY BIG schools of fish! We caught over 30+ doubles today!
3-13-11
Fishing is getting better and better!! The water is warming on the main lake 60 degrees when we left today! The fish are on the move and BITING!! Today we caught around a hundred Sandbass (kept there limit 75) and caught around 20 Hybrids but only had 12 good keepers! The fish are moving chasing the bait off of points near deep water!! And sometimes suspended in deep water near points! 35-40 ft deep water near points that are around 20-25 ft! All of our fish were caught using Fly-By-Night Slabs (1.5 oz) and Flies!! (white and chrome seemed to work the best) and Lead Babies Slabs (1.5oz)Chartreuse and White aswell!
3-4-11
The BIG BOYS are starting to come out and play!! Every Hybrid that we caught today was at least 6lbs up to 11lbs!!! Find the bait and the Hybrids will follow! We fished wind blown very shallow points 2-10 ft of water! Even found some early post spawner (Sand Bass)coming back to the main lake!! The Sand Bass were holding in 25 to 35 ft! and eating very aggressively! All Hybrids were caught on 3/4 oz bullet head jigs with sassy shad swim baits! The Sand Bass Were caught on both Sassy shad and Lead Babies Slabs!! The Large Mouth are starting to position themselves for the spawn in the mouths of the creeks and warm pockets! Main lake temps 58-60 degrees. Back waters as high as 66!
2-20-11
Found 58+ degree water and lots of big Hybrids and some green ones today aswell! Limited out today on both!! Had about 15lb sack of green ones and some good 5+lber Hybrids today! I just have to down load the pic of a good one that I took with my I-phone! The Large mouth bite is definitely picking up in a BIG way!! At one spot today caught 3 good large mouth in 4 casts!! More info after the tourny!! Loaded a couple of screen shots of the schooling Hybrids in the photo gallery!!
2-17-11
Water is warming nicely! Found some 55+ degree water holding fish! Large mouth bite is slow but will pick up quickly in the coming days as long as temps continue to stayup! Sand Bass bite is very slow, they will be starting to move towards the creeks very soon. Hybrids are hit and miss right now! Some days they are eating and the next 2 or 3 days nothing! I will post more info about Large mouth fishing after the uncoming open tourny! at the end of this month!
1-2-11
Cold water and still catching decent numbers of really quality fish on the right days! Water temp was 49.1 on the main lake and a little stained. The fish were suspended and holding at 35ft in 50ft of water! Keys to catching the fish this time of year, (1) be where the fish are chasing the bait balls! (2) Having your lure at the right depth (3) using the correct size lure! and thats it. And also being very patient. Fish very slow if not motionless, (dead sticking). You can still catch alot of BIG fish this time of year on the right day but, time is running out, when the water reaches around 44 degrees the fish just about stop moving and eating at all. The LEAD BABIES SLABS AND FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES combo are still the best baits to use for producing the bite you are looking for on Lake Lewisville and Lake Ray Roberts!
11-20-10
Fishing is still as good as it can get right now on just about any lake you chose from! I have taken trips on all three lakes lately and had easy limits on all three lakes!! ( Lakes, Lewisville, Ray Roberts, and Grapevine)! The fish are pretty easy to find, just locate the bait fish movement and the fish will be close behind with there mouths wide open. The water temps are still in the low 60's and stained (from all the wind) but still in good shape. The fish that I have been catching are holding in many different depths! I have found them as shallow as 10' to as deep as 40'! All of my fish have been caught using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT flies! The only two baits you need to load the boat!
10-17-10
Fishing is still awesome right now on Lake Lewisville! I think that the lake is starting to turn over. We caught allot of very cold fish deeper and, more scattered then they have been lately across the lake. When I say cold fish I mean Cold too the touch. (The fish have been really warm until the last couple of days!) The turning of the lake has messed up the Hybrid bite up slightly but it will recover quickly! The water temp was around 69-71 depending what part of the lake you are fishing in. The water condition is still really good and clearing more and more daily! All of our fish were caught 25' or deeper, using Lead Babies Slabs and Fly-By-Night-Flies!
9-29-10
Fishing is just about as good as it can get right now! We are catch big numbers of Sandies as well as some really big Hybrids up to 10 pounds! The fish are holding on all the normal spots deep ledges and humps around the lake. We caught fish from 20 ft to as deep as 35 ft! The water temp was 78 when we left at 1:00 today and the water was slightly stained. All of our fish were caught today using Lead Babies Slabs and Fly-By-Night-Flies!
9-5-10
Finally some cooler temps are here! The water temp has dropped to 80 degrees this week!! And the fish and shad have responded! Larger balls of shad and feeding schools of fish are starting to form on and around the structure in the lake! We had our limit today easily in about 1 hour! Most of our fish were located in water from 20'-30'. Hopefully with labor day passing more of the pleasure boats and fare weather fishermen will start to decline on the lake, making it much easier to find and stay on the fish. We also found some schooling Hybrids today for about 45mins until about 5 or 6 boats saw us and decided to run over and through the feeding fish and chase them off. But it was really fun while it lasted!! All of our fish were caught today using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT-FLIES!!
8-11-10
Fishing can't get any easier, I think than it is right now!! You just have to be able to handle the HEAT! Good sized limits are being caught every time out on the lake!! The water temp was 88 when we launched today at 6:30 and 90 degrees when we quit at 11:00! The water is in great condition and just a little low (But still very high for this time of year!)! The fish are still schooling if that is your game, or you can fish the structure and go after the Hybrids. All of my fish are being caught by using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT-FLIES and BABY TORPEDOES!
7-16-10
STOP FISHING FOR THE DINKS IN THE SCHOOLING FISH!! Lake Lewisville is starting to turn out some really good numbers and good sized fish on the structure finally! We had about 15 or so really good Hybrids in the boat in about 1 1/2 hours of fishing some main lake structure. As well as allot of really good 15in + Sand Bass! The fish are starting to transition from the summer schooling pattern to the summer structure pattern!! THANK GOD! The water was about 86 degrees when we left the water at about 10 am this morning. If the wind will stay down a little and we stay hot like this, the structure bite is really really going to go crazy!!! All of our fish were caught today using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES!
6-6-10
Lake Lewisville is going to blow any day now!! The fish are trying to school and start some top water action!! But for now the fishing is still pretty good, limits are being caught daily! You just need to be patient and know how to read what you are seeing on your graphs. The fish are in that transitional faze between structure fishing and top water. But can still be found and caught in big numbers in the right spot. The water was around 84 when we left the lake, and the water is in awesome condition! EVERY fish that we caught today was caught using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT flies!!!
5-20-10
What can I say other than fishing is as good as it can get right now!! Limits are pretty easy to catch on all three lakes; Lake Lewisville, Lake Ray Roberts, and Lake Grapevine! Water temps are from 70 to as high as 76 on Lake Lewisville Sat. The water is clearing quickly and setting up for an awesome top water season!! All fish are being caught on LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT flies and Storm Sassy Swimmers.
4-16-10
Lake Lewisville is really starting to heat up! Really good numbers of good sized fish are ripe for the catching. Water temp was around 68-70 and starting to settle down and clear up! The fish are holding on some main lake humps and wind blown main lake points from 3' to 25'! Limits of good sized Whites and yes Hybrids are being caught on my boat DAILY. Today I was catching fish at around 100 fish an hour or so! I had my limit of Hybrids in an hour and a half! All of my fish were caught today using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT flies, and XCALIBUR X-R 50'S! IT IS ON NOW!!!
4-10-10
Water temps are climbing, and the water is stabilizing and starting to clear!! Lake Ray Roberts is really starting to BUST LOOSE! We caught close to a hundred an hour today! They were holding in 10-30 ft some schooling with some top water action already beginning! Good sized spawned out sandies! The water temps range from 62-65 depending on where you are on the lake. The north end is still stained up alittle but getting better! Lake Lewisville is slowly coming around, FINALLY! Some of the first schools of sandies are starting to come down to the main lake, so it should not be to much longer before LL starts to fire up as well!! Water temps and conditions are just about the same on LL just the amount of fish to catch on the main lake "feeding" is the difference between Lake Lewisville and Lake Ray Roberts! All of the fish that I caught today where caught using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES! So Let the summer bite begin!!!!!
3-17-10
The temps are getting better and the fish are moving up into the creeks!, and starting to spawn! I am catching allot of BIG females and some decent sized males! ( I am releasing ALL of these fish that are in the creeks spawning now!) When they are done with their run, it is ON! Water temps out on the main lake are anywhere between 51 to as high as 64 in some of the creeks! The water is still stained on the main lake from all of our recent snow melt run off! If the temps continue to stabilize and increase the fishing conditions on all of the area lakes will explode REALLY SOON!
3-8-10
Finally the weather has changed for the better! I guest late is better than never! With the higher then normal temps, the water temps should be rising quickly, causing the fish to do the things that we have been waiting for them to do!! The fishing conditions on both Lake Lewisville and Ray Roberts should improve very quickly! It should be getting better daily!
2-19-10
Fishing at the very best could be called super slow right now! Once we get some stability in our weather patterns, it will start to improve quickly!! With all of the rain and snow that we have received this year, it should be a very productive upcoming fishing season! All of our area lakes and steams are full pool or above full pool!
12-20-09
Fishing the last two months has been the best it has been all year!! Both November and through most of December has been off the charts!! Huge numbers off some really big fish have been pretty easy to catch on both Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Grapevine!! Lake Lewisville is still producing good numbers of fish but alittle smaller (in size) than the other two lakes. Over all the lakes (all three) are in really good shape, full and pretty clear! The water temp is 48-51 degrees depending on where you are on the lakes. Fish are still holding in about 30'+ and holding very tight to the bottom. You really need to have very good electronics and know how read what you are seeing to locate the fish! I have down sized my baits (1oz-1.5oz) and slowed down the action of the baits due to the water temps and lack of fish activity. All fish are being caught with LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!Thankyou to all of my customers that went fishing with me this past year!!
10-18-09
Fishing on Lake Ray Roberts can get no better than it is right now!! The fish are in water ranging from 10'-30' and very hungry. Huge schools of some very big sandbass are running around the lake looking for something to eat. Hundreds and hundreds of birds are working the lake while thousands of 1lb-2lb+ sandbass are hitting my 2 oz LEAD BABIES SLABS and my FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES! LIMITS ARE BEING CAUGHT EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN OUT ON THE LAKE THIS MONTH!!! Water temp is 65 degrees and slightly stained in the main lake. Pics in the 2009 album!
10-14-09
Fishing on Lake Lewisville is improving the further we get into the cooler months of fall! The fish are starting to school up better each day that goes by! The water temp is about 69-71 degrees, depending on where you are fishing on the lake. The fish are holding in 20'-25' of water on ledges next to humps and flats, waiting for schools of bait fish to swim by to feed on. All of my fish are being caught on LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES. Pics in the 2009 album!
9-1-09
Fishing has been anything but consistant on Lake Lewisville so for this year, but it is getting better! With cooler temps on the way the fish should set up in a more consistant pattern! Right now the fish are holding on hump ledges and deep ledges in the main lake around 20'-26'. Sometimes in the early mornings you can get some scattered top water schooling over by the old spillway! Just follow the boats and the birds. If you are more about finding fish away from the crowds of fair weather fisherman then it is time to use your graph and work the main lake ledges. Over all the lake itself is in the best shape it could be for the time of year it is! The lake is only about 2'-3' down and pretty clear(for LL), the water temp is holding in the upper 70's to the lower 80's depending on when you are on the lake. All of my fish are being caught on Lake Lewisville using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES! The only baits that you need to load the boat.
8-5-09
The top water bite on Lake Lewisville has really slowed down allot, the fish are starting to set up on deep structure in the main lake and feed up on the balls of bait fish! If you can find the big Gizzard Shad then you have found where the Hybrids and the mag Sandes are holding in the lake! The key to success is deep structure and being able to use your sonar properly! Most of our fish today were caught below 30' of water on deep structure using 2 oz LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES! The water temp was around 85 degrees and pretty clear. The lake is only down about a 1'-2' right now! All-in-all the lake is in pretty good shape this year.
7-1-09
The top water bite is on! Acres of schooling fish are all over the lake! Limits of Sand bass and Hybrids are being caught daily! Now is the time to be on the lake! We are catching doubles of Sandies and Hybrids using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT FLIES!
6-12-09
Went out on Lake Lewisville today with Jeff and his father and caught a bunch of fish! It was a little windy but we managed to catch a limit of some pretty good sized Sandies and than some. The fish were holding around 25 ft of water, on wind blown points in pretty good sized schools. Water temp was right at 80 degrees and still in pretty good shape, even after the recent big winds and very big rain we have had in the last couple of days. All of the fish we caught today were caught by using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT-FLIES! The only two baits you need to load the boat!
5-31-09
Lake Lewisville was great early in the morning and then slowed down later in the day (9:30 or so). I was able to find some really quality Sandies and BIG HYBRIDS(24+) today on some of the main lake humps in about 24-28 ft of water. We had our limits of sandy bass by 8:30 or so and continued to hammer on some Big Hybrids and some bigger sandies until 12:00. The temp is around 78 and rising, It will be in the low to middle 80's by the weekend. The top water should follow close behind the 80's and then it's really going to be on! All of our fish today were caught SLABBIN with LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT-FLIES.
5-23-09
Lake Lewisville is on fire!! Catching limits daily of big fish! As many as 150 to 200 caught in a half day trip now regularly!! The fish are really starting to feed up and grow up aswell!! The water temp is still in the mid 70's and slightly stained. Overall the lake is in very good shape and full. Almost every main lake point and hump is holding SOME fish. Some are smaller than others, but all you have to do is move around and use your graph to find the bigger sized fish that you want to catch! The fish can be found in just about any depth on the lake! The top water bite should be turning on anyday now!! All of the fish on my boat are caught by only using LEAD BABIES SLABS AND FLY-BY-NIGHT-FLIES!!!! Pic of the days keepers in the 2009 album. Thanks MM!!
5-17-09
I was out with family today (Sunday), and man the fishing could not have been any easier then it was today! Except maybe it was a little windy early on in the day. We had our limit of KEEPER sandies in the boat in about an hour or so and started culling the smaller ones after that. I found several big schools of Hybrids running around the lake chasing the balls of shad feeding up for the summer action. We all most limited out on the Hybrids but the sun and the lake started to be alittle much for the family. The fish were pretty much everywhere I looked from 5ft to as deep as 25 ft moving around quickly and eating everything in sight! The water is still stained and runinning around 72-74 degrees! Main lake points and main lake humps were all holding fish. All fish today were caught using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY-BY-NIGHT-FLIES! Pic of my daughters two biggest Hybrids she caught are in the 2009 album!
5-1-09 @ 5-2-09
I was out on LL on both of these days and had a blast! We caught a ton of fish on sandy main lake points and sandy main lake humps, in about 18 to 24 ft of water. The water temp was about 69-71 degress (depending where we were on the lake) and slightly off color due to the recent rains. We boated 400 to 500 fish these two days with an good sized Hybrid mixed in every once and a while! All of our fish were caught by using LEAD BABIES SLABS and FLY BY NIGHT FLIES !! Limits of good size fish being caught daily!! Pic off the live well on in the 2009 album.
4-21-09
The SUMMER BITE has begun on Lake Lewisville, If the current weather pattern stands up and continues to warm up!! The water temp was 70 degrees when we left the lake at 2:30 today, and getting warmer! The Hybrids were running up very shallow on wind blown sandy points following the bait. We caught several in about 1'-2' of water! They were all caught by swimming LEAD BABIES SLABS and using sassy shad swim baits. I also found VERY LARGE schools of post and pre-spawn Sandies on main lake points and a couple of main lake humps. I even found some Sandies hitting top water today!! The sandies are really starting to feed up and run around the lake, the open water bubbling should start any day now!! Lake Lewisville is about to go crazy!!! Pics are in the 09 album.
4-15-09
The bite on Ray Roberts is on FIRE right now!! I went out today with 2 clients and had limits of BIG SANDIES in the boat in less then an hour!! We fished on for the remainder of the trip culling some of the smaller big ones with even bigger fish. We were fishing main lake points and a couple of main lake humps from 25-35 ft of water. We found HUGE schools of sandies hungry and ready for the plucking out of the lake. Water temp was 60 to 65 (depending on area of lake), slightly stained and in very good shape!
4-3-09
The summer bite is starting to heat up on LL! I am catching allot of fish on main lake points and humps in about 25-30 ft of water on LEAD BABIES SLABS Long Minnows (chartreuse/blackback). Water is in pretty good shape this year, only about 4' down and just slightly stained. Water temp is holding in the low 60's and rising.
3-22-09
Went out today on Lake Lewisville with the family and had a blast catching some really nice fish. Most fish were located on main lake points and humps 28 to 35 ft of water, that we could get too because of the wind! 20+ from the south. We caught around 75-90 Sandies and about 10 or so Hybrids all by working 1.5 oz and 2 oz LEAD BABIES SLABS chartreuse/blackback. My 9 year old daughter caught 7 or 8 doubles one after another and finally ended up catching 29 fish. My wife finally landed her first big Hybrid this year (first time she has been out because of the temps), pic in the album. If the weather would just stabilize the fish are ready to bust loose and GO CRAZY! Water temp around 59-60 degrees.
3-17-09
I had a 1/2 day trip today with Parrot family, and it was a great day on the lake!!! We caught about 30+ Hybrids and 30+ Sandies (until we were all tired at least)! All fish were caught on 2 oz LEAD BABIES SLABS chartreuse/black back long minnows. The water temp was about 60 degrees when we left the lake and the fish were really starting to pop! We caught all fish working a main lake points in about 35 ft of water. Pics in the 2009 album.
2-25-09
Went out on LL today and killed it!!! The Sandies and Hybrids are starting to school up and feed on shad in deep water 35'-50' and run around fast. Water temp is 56-58 and in very good condition! Still slabbin with the 2 oz LEAD BABIES SLAB Long Minnow chartreuse/black back. Pic is in the album. I caught about 25 Hybrids and about 30 Sandies in about 3 hours.
2-17-09
Went out on LL today by myself just to have a little fun, and I had a blast! I found the fish in about 30-40 ft moving around alot but easy to catch. Water temp was 50 to 51 degrees. They were holding on secondary points and chasing the bait. I also caught a couple of sandies that already had some spawning scares on them? Kinda early but good for the upcoming season! The Hybrids were there aswell caught 3 nice keepers and 4 unders and missed a bunch more, owell. I Caught all of the fish dropshoting a chartreuse LEAD BABIES SLABS with a fluke about 18" above the slab.
2-15-09
Went out with a buddy on LL and tried to fish the 4-8mph wind?(thanks weather man) lol The wind was more like 15-20 and made it almost impossible to deadstick the deep water by the dam. So I just drove around and tried to mark some fish and found the biggest school I've seen this winter so far, just under a couple of giant balls of shad in about 50' of water. It killed me not to pull up a couple of them but did not want to get wet so I will have to go out again later this week and locate them again when the wind lays down. The water temp was 54!!!! down by the dam. Its getting better!!!
1-21-09
I went for a little fishing fun on Wednesday by myself and had a blast! The birds were working tons of shad. The Catfish, Sandbass, and Hybrids were all working the shad. I caught a bunch of Catfish some undersized and some keepers, some really nice sized Hybrids all keepers but only one really big one, and some magnum Sandies! All on LEAD BABIES SLABS 1.5 oz white/blueback slabs. They were all in 40' to 45' of water off of a main lake point. The water temp was around 48 to 50 degrees. The bite was on big time on Lake Lewisville today and the weather was awesome today aswell! Check out the pictures in the photo gallery 2009.
12-13-08
My wife and I went out this morning on Grapevine just to check out what the fish were up too. And we found ALITTLE wind 15-20 gusting to 25+ and some fish. The fish are moving deeper as the water temp continues to drop (49-50 degrees). The fish were holding around 28' to 30' and not moving a whole lot. I had to down size the bait a little to 1oz to 1 1/2oz LEAD BABIES SLABS, silver/black back, and white/blue back seemed to be the most productive this day. DEAD STICKING seemed to get the quickest results. We ended up with about 15 or 20 mag sized Sandies and decided to call it a day, because the wind was causing the lake to be alittle rough and I was get wet aswell.
12-07-08
I went out just for a few hours this morning just too catch a couple fish and found the mother load of winter schools feeding on my LEAD BABIES! The fish were in about 24' to about 28' of water. Water temp was 50.5-52 degrees and very light wind (thank god, it was a little cold). I found them on the first big main lake point I came to! Caught my fill and burned back to the ramp.
12-06-08
Water is definitely cooling down on lake lewisville! 51 to 53 degrees today. The fish have really been pushed deeper now and a little harder to find. They are holding VERY tight to the bottom and not moving around as much as before. We were still able to get on some fish today in about 26' to 32' of water using BIG slabs, 2oz to 3.5oz LEAD BABIES SLABS Glowing Green/Black Back and Irish Special, on sharp drop offs in the Hickory Creek arm of the lake. I really didn't see very many fish at all in the main lake, which doesn't mean that they are not there, it just means they were not where I was looking today. However I do think that they are starting to move up the creeks now! We were still able to catch some fish! I think we ended up with about 25 Sandies and 3 Hybrids. The Sandies that we did catch were all keepers 1 3/4 lbs to 2 1/4 lbs, about 16 in. and fat. The Hybrids were not as big as usual but still keepers (couple of pictures in gallery).
11-29-08
I had a full day 2 lake trip today. Grapevine in the morning and Lewisville in the afternoon. We had a great morning on Grapevine, caught the hell out of them. It was an awesome bite, big schools and big fat fish about 16' to 22' on mainlake points on the north side of the lake using LEAD BABIES SLABS 2 oz long minnows. We headed for Lewisville about 11:30 or 12:00, put the boat in and located some fish in Hickory Creek but the Wind really started to pick up. When the white caps started rolling over the front of the boat is was time to go.

I had trips on both days at Lake Grapevine, (didn't get a chance to get to Lewisville this weekend sorry). We had a SUPER trips on both days. We caught limits on both days, it took about 2 hours on sat. and about 2 1/2 hours on sun. We continued to fish until we ran out of time and only keep the biggest fish and released the rest. We were working main lake points and humps on the north side of the lake about 18' to 24'. We were using 2 oz chartreuse/black back long minnow LEAD BABIES SLABS.

I had a trip today with a father and his son (8 years old). We had a great time today, we only fished for about 4 hours mainly working with his son (pictures are coming soon). We caught 4 Hybrids and 15 or 20 Sandies, unfortunately the weather started to turn a little ugly. The wind started to blow and blow a little more until it blew us off the lake. Still working the humps and dropoffs around the lake 18' to 24'.

I was on Lake Grapevine today participating in the Take A Soldier Fishing program. We had a blast! We started about 7:30 and fished until about 3:00. Jeremiah and I caught about 120 Sandies, 4 black bass, and a lone crappie fishing the dropoffs and humps. We caught all these fish using a chartreuse/black back 2oz LEAD BABIES SLABS!

Went out today just for a little fishing time for me and a buddy. We had fun but the bite was a little slow today. We had to work for every fish we caught. We caught our limits, still working the humps and the birds, when they would fly.

Went out Sunday morning about 7:00 am, was only about 5 boats on the lake. We had the entire lake to ourselves it seemed. Limited out working the humps and had a great time! CHECK OUT THE PICTURES!

Had a trip in the morning and had a blast! Caught the daylights out of 'em. Limited out in about 2 hours and started looking for the big ones! Culled all the smaller fish and ended up with a huge bag for the day! Still schooling on the humps around 20' to 24'.

Went out Saturday evening, great weather for a trip. The Sandies are still schooling on and around the humps. Around 18' to 20' today. They are still moving around abit, but I am still able to stay on the schools and limit out by using my electronics, and Lead baby Slabs. Cooler weather is coming soon and should really pile the fish up on the humps for some great Fall fishing.
